AWI was born on a cold winter day, the youngest
of four children (two sisters, one brother).
He initially started to play the flute became bored
with this quickly, and switched to playing the
saxophone at the age of 10 years. Music wasn't
the main interest in his younger years.
He spent the majority of his free time playing
ice hockey.
At the age of sixteen, he undertook a four years
apprenticeship in electronics. After working for various companies as an engineer, AWI moved to Singapore. During that time he played his music in Clubs in China, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Due to lots of business trips he found that he was too busy to spend as much time with his music. After two years he left his job in Singapore and went on a one year trip around the world, including such countries as Africa. During this time he learnt a lot about people from all over the world and from all walks of life, and found that, to be happy is more important than having lots of money.
The opportunity to experience the beauty of nature and to interact with people from various cultures left memorable impressions. In July 2001 he moved back home to Switzerland and now invests most of his time into his music. He particularly likes it if people enjoy and dance to his music. His aim is to make people dance and enjoy themselves, to have a little fun, and experience happiness from his music!!
